1. Who we are
Guides.sh is operated by Quantevo (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in South Africa
("we", "us", or "our").
We are the responsible party for your personal information as defined under the
Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. What information we collect
We collect minimal information and only what is necessary to operate the platform.
Information collected automatically
- Page views and navigation data — which pages you visit and how you navigate the site, collected via Vercel Analytics. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. No cookies are used.
- Performance data — page load times and Core Web Vitals, collected via Vercel Speed Insights. This is anonymous technical data.
- General location — country-level only, derived from your IP address by Vercel's infrastructure. We do not store or have access to your full IP address.
Information you provide
- Email address — only if you choose to make a donation. Your email is passed to Paystack to process the transaction and send you a payment receipt. We do not store your email address on our systems.
3. How we use your information
- To understand how the platform is being used and improve its content
- To measure page performance and fix technical issues
- To process donations through Paystack
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Vercel — hosting, analytics, and speed insights. Vercel processes anonymised visitor data on our behalf. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
- Paystack — payment processing for donations. Paystack is a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. When you donate, your payment details are handled entirely by Paystack. See Paystack's Privacy Policy.
5. Cookies
Guides.sh does not use cookies for tracking or analytics. Vercel Analytics is
cookie-free by design. Some cookies may be set by Paystack during a donation transaction,
governed by their own privacy policy.
6. Data retention
Vercel Analytics retains aggregated, anonymised visit data for up to 90 days on the free tier.
We do not retain any personal information on our own systems beyond what is processed in real time.
7. Your rights under POPIA
As a data subject under POPIA, you have the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Object to the processing of your personal information
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at www.justice.gov.za/inforeg

8. International visitors
If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction
with data protection laws, you may have additional rights (e.g. under GDPR).
We apply the same standards of data minimisation and transparency to all visitors regardless of location.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects
the most recent revision. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance
of the updated policy.
